My random act of kindness was to a dear friend that lost her daughter in a tragic accident. Her daughter was killed by the reckless drunk driving of her boyfriend. My friend has been an example to us all that forgiveness is possible when it seems impossible. Her daughter was beautiful inside and out and an amazing spirit. Her message on Facebook before her death was "Be in love with your life , every minute of it."
I have 8 friends that died on 9 11. I try not to have hate in my heart and to forgive like my friend. Sometimes it's easier said than done, because they where murdered so senselessly. I will continue to do random acts of kindness and remember all these young people that died much to young and especially remember Alisha, Ava and Sam.

I am the recipient of a random act of kindness in memory of Alisha & Ava! I just received a beautiful heart shaped pendant adorned in Red, White & blue in memory of my daughter who was born on the 4th of July. My daughter Samantha was 21 when she was killed in a drunk driving accident on Dec. 9, 2012. Her fiancé was driving and was not only drunk, but he was angry when they left Sam's Christmas Party that night. When tragedy strikes, you have 2 choices... you can learn from it and make a difference or let it eat you up and make you bitter. I love what this family is doing in memory of their daughter and granddaughter! We too decided to honor Sam, her last quote on facebook was "Be In Love with Your Life, Every minute of it"! We have started The Samantha Funding The Arts Foundation to help supplement the arts in our public schools (Sam was an aspiring artist). I will pay it forward in Alisha & Ava's memory and support your project! God Bless you and your family! You are making a difference and I know our daughter's are smiling down!

Kimmie and I went to church last night and packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We picked up some stuff at Walgreens to pack gift boxes for children in third world countries so that they can celebrate Christmas and learn about God. We picked up enough stuff for 5 boxes, and we're doing three more today. It was great to be able to help others who have so little. Laughing

My niece and I went to the movies last night and bought two tickets for the next people in line and gave them Alisha's card.

The first card I gave to the hospital valet man after leaving with my baby son. I tipped him with $20. The second one I gave to a girlfriend that needed groceries to last to payday when I bought some for her. I hope that they may be returned one day.

First I want to say to Sherry, Joe and family how sorry I'm for the loss of your beautiful daughter and grand baby. I think I can say that I know how you feel, I lost my 14 year old son in a horrible tragedy. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Keep pressing on God promises, the are real. I pass the card to a very beautiful person and I know she will pay it forward to some one special. May God continue to give you strength and peace.

I created a tag your it card with smiley faces on one side and a little pay it forward message on the other side. Below the message I attached Alisha and Ava's pay it forward purple card. I inserted a Target gift card along with a $10.00 bill and put it in an envelope. I asked my friend at work who lives in downtown Chicago and parks in a hospital parking garage to choose a car and put the card on their windshield. He chose a car with Virginia license plates. What better place to pay it forward than a hospital.

I paid for this mans items at a convenience store downtown Joliet. With my change I told the cashier to use my change from what I got to help other customers and gave her a few cards. It turns out that the man I bought his items for turned 59 today. It's his birthday which made doing it even more special. I also ran into a man playing a saxophone on the street and donated to him. I told him he didn't even have to play for me and I stood there talking to him for a few minutes. I could tell that alone made an impact. Prior to going out on my lunch break and doing this, the emergency lights at work flickered a few times. I said "do it again Lish do it again" and they did! I know she's with us all today and helping her spread her kindness.

I left $20 with the cashier at a McDonalds drive-thru and asked her to take $5 off (4) orders. It really made me think of my girls today. I didn't expect that this tiny act of kindness would have such an effect on me.

A friend of mine from high school just lost her baby yesterday to a terrible disease and the sorrow made me think of the loss of Alisha and the sentencing hearing next week. I just wanted Sherri and Joe to know that even though days are moving on, Alisha is always in my thoughts and so are all of you. Love you guys and you continue to be in my prayers! Love Sue

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die

Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin, signed a bill into law on April 16th, 2014.

Assembly Bill 780- eliminates drunkenness (voluntary intoxication) as a defense for individuals who commit crimes. Representative Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) and Senator Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn) authored the bill, which passed the Assembly and Senate on voice votes; it is now Act 307.

I am sorry that your beautiful daughter and granddaughters lives were cut short by such a vicious monster. May they walk in peace with the lord and his angels. May they watch over and keep you til you meet again. Much love and prayers that you get the peace you need to continue to fight for the law to be changed.

Alisha, I miss you terribly, everyday. Today's your birthday and you should be blowing out 23 candles. I still remember holding you in the hospital. The love I felt that day,and everyday since, is never ending. You hold a special place in my heart, Bebe, and I cherished our time together. Thank you for bringing tremendous joy to my life. I love you always!
